“I am proud to say that I finished the marathon in 9hr 22min 45sec to get my 12th marathon patch within the required 10hr limit. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of losing longtime bad habits has contributed to this accomplishment.  Once a serious injury occurs, the body and mind treat the injured area in a different way. This results in a habit that produces the limps, twists, aches, and other symptoms. Useful until the body has repaired itself but a bad habit afterwards.  In my case I was favoring my right leg in a major way for years.  I would always use my left leg to support my weight while standing and felt my right leg was “weak” in all physical endeavors.  This bad habit actually resulted in a weak right leg.
