Feldenkrais® Method

The Feldenkrais® Method emphasizes moving easily and enjoyably. Gentle movements and directed attention are used to reduce unnecessary habitual muscular tensions that often limit the quality of our movements. By attending to yourself during movement, you can learn to increase range of motion, improve coordination, and enhance overall quality of life. The Method is appropriate for individuals looking to enhance their performance such as athletes and artists. Feldenkrais® is also beneficial for individuals with chronic pain, neurological conditions, and depression.

The Feldenkrais® Method has two formats. In group classes, called Awareness Through Movement®, participants are verbally led through a sequence of movements in basic positions such as lying on the floor, sitting in a chair, or standing. Private one-on-one sessions, called Functional Integration®, are precisely tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. Gentle touch is used to guide your movements and provide the necessary sensory feedback for step by step improvement in movement abilities. The work is designed to make you the architect of your own healing and improvement.
